The Air Cadet Squadron Headquarters was commemorated recently with the burial of a time capsule deep in the foundations of a new housing development as reported in the Eastbourne Herald. The time capsule was the idea of Derek Godfrey, managing director of Ellis Developments, who purchased the Rangemore Drive site to build five new bungalows.

An old ammunition box became the 'capsule' and contained artefacts and memorabilia reflecting the history of the air cadets in Eastbourne and the long association the site has had with the military.

Mr Godfrey said, "While we plan to complete the bungalows in April, it's great to know that there will always be a link with the air cadets in Rangemore Drive and the important role they have played".
